Howl-O-Scream SeaWorld Orlando: what it costs and whether it is worth it
Howl-O-Scream is SeaWorld Orlando's separately-ticketed Halloween night: produced haunted houses, scare zones and coasters running after dark across the marine park. The Orlando edition is the biggest of the three and a genuine third pole in the city's Halloween season alongside the Disney and Universal events.
Confirmed · Checked September 2026
2026 dates from SeaWorld Orlando's official Howl-O-Scream page (viewed September 2026): select nights September 11 – October 31.

- Nights
- ~18 (12–26)
- Nights of the week
- Fri, Sat, Sun
- Hours
- Roughly 19:00 to midnight or later
What you get, and what you do not
What you get
- Multiple produced haunted houses at a scale the day park never shows.
- Scare zones through the park's midways, with the marine-park setting doing unusual atmospheric work.
- The coaster lineup running after dark — a genuinely different experience of the big rides.
- Shows and bars programmed for the adult night-out crowd the event targets.
What you do not
- The animal exhibits in any meaningful sense — the event is not the park's day identity.
- A family product: Howl-O-Scream is uniformly intense and age-restricted in spirit and often in policy.
- Day admission — the ticket is for the night event, with the day park separate.
What it costs
$50–$130 per person, per night as of 2025 season pattern
- Cheapest nights
- Opening weekend and early-season Sunday nights
- Most expensive
- The last two Saturdays before Halloween
- Tax additional; parking separate.
- Quick Queue for the haunt is a separate product from the day version and prices by night.
- Frequent-visitor passes carry discounts on select nights most years.
How to actually do Howl-O-Scream
Coasters first, houses second
The event opens with the coasters near-walk-on while the maze queues build — invert the instinct and ride the big drops in the first hour, then work the houses. The night coaster laps are the event's underrated product: Mako's airtime hills under event lighting are among the best night coaster laps in Florida.
The double-day arithmetic
Many tickets allow the day-plus-night combo at a discount over separate admission. The combo works only if you accept a mid-day break — the event runs late, and the 3pm-to-1pm version of the double is a stamina trap. Ride the morning, rest the afternoon, haunt the night.
Line-skip on peak nights
The haunt Quick Queue is priced like the peak nights it serves. The same rule as every product on this site applies: weeknight never, peak Saturday seriously. The maze count at these events is small enough that the skip product converts a three-house night into an everything night.
The verdict
Worth it as the value play in Orlando's Halloween season — the same produced-haunt ambition as the resort events, usually at a lower ticket, with better coasters running after dark.
Worth it if
- You want a produced haunt with real coasters running after dark — a combination only the SeaWorld haunts offer on this site.
- Your night lands early in the season on a weeknight-equivalent date.
- You are pairing it with a day at the park and want the full day-and-night double.
Skip it if
- You only want coasters — the day park delivers them without the haunt crowds.
- Peak-Saturday queue math without the haunt line-skip product sounds unpleasant, because it is.
- Anyone in the party is under the event's recommendation — this is an adults-leaning night throughout.

Frequently asked questions
Is Howl-O-Scream included with SeaWorld admission?
No — it is a separately-ticketed night event, and the day park closes early on event nights. Some combo tickets bundle day and night at a discount.
How scary is Howl-O-Scream?
Genuinely intense — produced haunted houses and staffed scare zones aimed at an adult night-out crowd, closer to the Universal haunts' tone than to a decorated ride day. The parks themselves warn against young guests, and this site agrees.
When does Howl-O-Scream run?
Select nights from mid-September through Halloween in the typical pattern. The current cycle's dates live on the park's event page; this site carries the pattern with a confidence label.
Do the coasters really run during the event?
Yes — the big coasters running after dark are half the product and the event's differentiator against standalone haunts. Which specific rides run each night is on the event page.
When does Howl-O-Scream end in 2026?
The 2026 edition is scheduled through Saturday, October 31. Closing-week dates follow the event's select-night pattern, so not every remaining calendar day is an event day — recheck the park's date-specific calendar before buying final-night tickets.
