SeaWorld San Antonio opened in 1988 as the third SeaWorld and the one built around space: 250 acres of Texas hill country west of the city, including a water park that is genuinely half the product in summer. It is the only park on this site where the aquatic-center answer to 'what is this place' changes with the season.
The existing SeaWorld San Antonio catalog includes The Great White’s invert loops, Steel Eel’s airtime hills and Wave Breaker, alongside family and animal experiences. It is selected coverage, not a complete operating roster.
An October 9, 2026 source correction removed Iron Rattler and the associated Crackaxle Canyon/quarry grouping from this park. Iron Rattler’s official page identifies Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Use SeaWorld’s current map for locations; Rio Loco’s location remains unverified here.
Summer is the complication: 95-plus days make the water-park half the main event and the coaster queues shorter than the slide queues. Spring and October — the fall haunt season — are the civilised windows for a ride-focused visit.
