Adjust for Kingda Ka
The tallest coaster in the world closed permanently after the 2024 season, and Zumanjaro with it. Any guide, video or forum thread that still lists them is out of date — plan around El Toro, Nitro and the supporting lineup.
Six Flags Great Adventure
A plan, not a list of adjectives. What to sort before you go, what order to do things in, and the mistakes that cost first-timers two hours a day.
Great Adventure is spread flat across half a square mile, and its three anchors — El Toro, Nitro and the Movietown cluster — sit in three different corners. The plan is a triangle, walked once.
The park's crowd curve is the region's steepest: summer Saturdays are enormous, September weekdays are calm. There is no version of a good July-Saturday plan that does not either start at open or buy the line-skip product.

El Toro's queue is the park's longest and its ride is the park's best. The first thirty minutes after open are worth more than any other thirty at Great Adventure.
The drive-through safari next door is its own ticket and its own half-day. It pairs well with a short park day but not with a full coaster mission — pick one per day.
Rope drop
Walk fast to Plaza del Carnaval. The crowd splits three ways and El Toro still wins the race.
First hour
El Toro twice — once for survival, once for comprehension.
Mid-morning
Batman and the boardwalk coasters on the way toward the lakefront.
Noon
Lunch early, then the Dark Knight indoors during the heat peak.
Early afternoon
Nitro and the lakefront steel as the crowds cycle.
Late afternoon
Superman and the remaining credits as the queue pressure eases.
Last hour
El Toro again, in the dark, at speed. This is the reason for the whole day.
