What it is
Driving School is the participatory signature: children drive real electric cars around a signaled street network, untethered, after a rules briefing. The license at the end (small upcharge) is the souvenir that outlives every brick set in the shop.
The sign-up fills by midday. It is the day's one fixed appointment besides the Dragon's rope drop.
What riding it is actually like
The rules briefing comes first and the children take it seriously because the rules are real — the cars stop at real signals on a signaled street network. Then they drive off, untethered, in actual electric cars, and the parents watch from the rails.
A few minutes of intersections, signage and the occasional stall, with the attendant’s wave-through. The concentration on the small drivers’ faces is the product; the intensity is entirely automotive pride.
The license counter closes the loop — a souvenir driver’s license for a small upcharge, the artifact that outlives every brick set in the shop. Decide the budget before the child sees the counter, and sign up early: slots fill by midday.
Is Driving School scary?
Not a ride — a real small-car driving experience on a signaled course. Automotive pride is the only intensity.
Scores are editorial, on a 1–5 scale, judged against what frightens a typical four- to seven-year-old rather than an adult.

Driving School: common questions
What ages is Driving School for?
The course is age-banded because it assumes drivers who can reach the pedals and process the rules — check the current bands before promising the youngest ones. The experience rewards exactly the ages it fits: genuine independence, at child scale.
How do we get a Driving School slot?
Sign up in the first two hours after opening — the day’s slots are usually gone by midday, which makes this and the Dragon’s rope drop the day’s two fixed appointments.
Does the Driving School license cost extra?
The drive is included with admission; the souvenir license at the end is a small upcharge. Worth it as a keepsake — decide before the counter rather than during the negotiation.
