Fiesta Village is Knott's celebration of Southern California's Mexican heritage, reimagined in the 2020s with new theming and investment. It holds several classic rides and the site of Montezooma's Revenge — the 1978 Schwarzkopf flywheel-loop shuttle that defined the park's thrill tier for four decades and has been closed amid the section's redevelopment.

The reworked village carries the park's most colorful theming and a cluster of family rides. Sol Spin's spinner and the Jaguar! coaster's figure-track give the section its motion.

Check the current status of Montezooma's return before promising any coaster-history pilgrim a ride — the redevelopment has been multi-year, and this site's closure tracker follows it.

Fiesta Village tips

  • Jaguar's 42-inch bar makes this the family coaster section.
  • The village's rework added genuine shade — a good midday zone.

Jaguar!

Roller coaster · 2 min

The family coaster spiraling around Fiesta Village's ziggurat — the 42-inch entry to the park's coaster ladder.

Jaguar! is Fiesta Village's family coaster, climbing inside and around the section's Mayan-ziggurat centerpiece before dropping into a spiral course around the village. The theming integration — the coaster and the ziggurat are one structure — is the most complete ride-environment blend at the park.

Tips for Jaguar!
  • The 42-inch bar makes this the park's best first 'real' coaster.
  • The queue moves fast — a reliable stop between the bigger rides with younger kids in tow.
  • The spiral finale circles the whole village — wave to the queue on the way down.

Sol Spin

Spinner · 2 min

The tall fiesta spinner — rotating arms at height over the village, the most disorienting family-tier ride at the park.

Sol Spin is Fiesta Village's modern flat ride: a tall rotating centerpiece whose arms spin riders at altitude over the reworked village. It belongs to the genre of spinners that look gentle from the queue and are not.

Tips for Sol Spin
  • Do not judge it from the ground — the arm rotation at height is the ride.
  • Motion-sensitive riders: this one sneaks up. Skip if HangTime was too much.
  • Watch one full cycle from the fence before deciding — the arm speed tells you more than the sign does.

Pony Express

The straddle-seat launch coaster — riders mount like horses, launch like outlaws, and bank through Fiesta Village at family speed.

Pony Express is a Zamperla straddle launch coaster: riders sit astride horse-style seats and are launched out of the station around a banked oval course through the reworked Fiesta Village. The launch supplies the thrill; the rest is scenery at pleasant speed.

Tips for Pony Express
  • The launch is immediate — lean forward and enjoy it rather than bracing.
  • Pairs with Jaguar for the Fiesta Village family hour.
  • The straddle seat is less forgiving of very tall riders than it looks.
