The entrance plaza is the oldest-feeling part of the park: the front gate's porches and the tower beyond them date to the earliest era, and the walk in passes the original theming that the chain's newer parks never had. Guests arriving here are walking through the prototype every other Six Flags was cloned from.

The plaza also holds guest services, lockers and the park's main meeting spots. The coaster action starts behind it — this is logistics territory, worth one slow look at the 1961 bones on the way through.

Texas SkyScreamer

The 400-foot star swing — the tallest ride at the park and the best view of Dallas–Fort Worth available with your feet dangling.

Texas SkyScreamer is the chain's giant swing model at the Arlington scale: a 400-foot tower, a carousel of swings, and a top speed that swings riders in a circle the width of a city block. It is one of the tallest swings at any American park.

  • Ride at golden hour — the view is the product, and the Texas light delivers.
  • The swing amplitude builds gradually; nobody is flung, everyone is lifted.
